Description:
I've been wanting to be a ham operator for most of my life, but now that Morse code is no longer necessary, I ought to be able to do it. Update: am in El Paso until the test day, staying at a fellow couchsurfing.com member's house... the El Paso system map shows buses 41, 42, 35, and 57 all go close to the test location near Wilson and Dyer, and the 35 leaves from the downtown terminal rather than starting at five points. Now to just get my butt up early on the 1st to be there by 9... there are like 10 buses that can get me there, starting at 5AM, so it shouldn't be all that hard...

started studyingcool! a lot of this is intuitive/commonsense, and/or i remember it from previous years, and/or is similar to computer/telecom theory and practice. just remembering that 300 million (the speed of light in meters per second) divided by wavelength equals frequency, and divided by frequency equals wavelength, will get you through a lot of the questions.

got the infodownloaded the test data from ARRL and other places, and the test is held every month in El Paso
