About LifeTango
What's a
"life list?"
A Life List is quite simply the list of things you want to
do in your life. It includes the list of
places you want to visit or live, the list of things you want to do, the list
of people you want to meet or see, and the list of things you want to
learn. Basically if itt's something you
would like to do someday, it's part of your Life List.
LifeTango was created to make it easy for you to Create your Life List, Share it with Friends and Family (or
invite others to join you on some of your goals), and Find others within the LifeTango Community who have similar
interests or aspirations.

It says
that LifeTango is free--what's the catch?
No catch. LifeTango
is free and always will be. Over time,
we may add some premium services, but you will always be able to do the
following for free: (1) Create, manage, and add to your Life List. (2) Invite friends or family members to view
your Life List or join you in accomplishing some of your goals. (3) Search the LifeTango Community to find
others with similar goals and interests.
(4) Read tips and helpful information on setting goals (in Tango Tips),
etc. Basically, if it's free today, it
will be free tomorrow. There's no hidden
catch or hidden fees.

Where can
I get tips and education on creating better goals?
New articles are added to "Tango Tips" frequently. These articles highlight findings from goal
research and provide other helpful tips and suggestions. The articles are categorized so you can
quickly find information on topics you are interested in. Simply go to Tango Tips and review the list
of "Categories" on the right-hand-side of the screen, then click on the topics
you're most interested in.

What's a
"blog?"
The term "blog" is short for "Web Log." On the internet today, blogs
are a common way to share information.--
The LifeTango Blog is called "Tango Tips" and is focused on helpful (and
hopefully entertaining) information to help you get more out of life.

What's
"Vita Qualitas?"
"Vita Qualitas" means "Quality
Life" in Latin. You will note at the
bottom of each page that LifeTango is owned and operated by Vita Qualitas (aka Quality Life) LLC, which is a Washington
State LLC.
Going with the whole "Latin" theme, we thought about naming
our company "Semper Fi (do
or die!) LLC, but that name/phrase was already taken by people with guns, so we
figured we better not mess with them.--
(And if there are any U.S. Marines reading this right now and you're
offended, the whole Semper Fi
joke was Sean's idea, and his address is . . .)

Will
LifeTango share my personal information with others?
By default, all of the goals you add to your Life List are
Private, meaning you, and only you, can see them when you're logged in. If you flag one or more of your goals for
"Friends and Family" and invite individuals you know to see those goals, they
will be able to see them. If you make
one or more of your goals Public, then your friends and family plus anyone
visiting LifeTango.com will be able to see the goal.
If you make a goal Public, your goal, plus your Screen Name
will be visible to others. Any other
information you provide in your Profile AND CHOOSE TO MAKE PUBLIC will also be
visible to others. However, for your
safety, LifeTango will never share your last name or email address with other LifeTango.com
members.
The only other time LifeTango would be required to share
your personal information would be if we were ordered to as part of a legal
proceeding. As long as you donn't create
goals to do illegal things (which is against our Terms of Use anyway), you're
probably pretty safe.

I answered
some questions in the Brainstorming Wizard, but when I went back to it, they
were gone. What happened?
If you use the Brainstorming Wizard to create some goals for
your Life List and then click "Save" on the "Summary" screen, your goals will
be added to My Tango. When you return to
the Brainstorming Wizard, you'll get a new "clean slate" to add even more
goals. If you want to modify or track
your progress on goals that you previously created in the Brainstorming Wizard,
simply visit My Tango.

What's a
"milestone?"
A "milestone" is a short-term goal that you create to help
you accomplish your longer-term goal. --For example, you might set a goal to "Lose 20
lbs" by the end of the year. A milestone
might be to "Lose 5 lbs" in the next 4 weeks.
Goal research has shown that individuals are more likely to
accomplish their long-term goals if they create a list of supporting milestones
(sometimes also referred to as "supporting goals," "short-term goals," or "goal
tasks"). Creating milestones helps you
focus on what you need to do HERE AND NOW to help you get closer to
accomplishing the goal you've set for "tomorrow."-- Milestones also give you confidence because
when you accomplish your first milestone, it helps you realize that you can
accomplish your other milestones and eventually accomplish your long-term goal.

Can anyone
else see my Private goals?
No. You, and only you
when you are logged into the site, can see your Private goals.
What's a
"Friend and Family" goal?
A Friend and Family goal is a goal you want to share with
others you know. Goal research has shown
that sharing your goals with others makes it easier to accomplish your
goals. Once yyou've told a friend or
family member that you want to "Write a novel," you've created a little
friendly peer pressure to do it.
In addition to "seeing" your goals, friends or family
members can also "adopt" your goals--meaning they can choose to do the same
thing. Having a group of friends or
family members work on a goal together can be very motivating.

What's a
Public goal?
If you make one of your goals Public, then anyone visiting
LifeTango.com will be able to see the goal when they visit the LifeTango
Community.
If you make a goal Public, your goal, plus your Screen Name
will be visible to others. Any other
information you provide in your Profile AND CHOOSE TO MAKE PUBLIC will also be
visible to others. However, for your
safety, LifeTango will never share your last name or email address with other
LifeTango.com members.

Can I
change my mind and make Public or Friends and Family goals Private again?
Far be it from us to tell you you
can't change your mind. At any time, you
can change the Share Level of your goals.
The only caution is this: if you have a Public or Friends
and Family goal that you invited others to see, and then you change the goal to
Private, the people you invited to see that goal will no longer be able to see
it. If you change your mind again down
the road and decide to make it Public or Friends and Family again, you will
need to reinvite any friends or family members who
you want to see that particular goal.

I want to
invite a group of friends to work on a goal together.-- Can I do that at LifeTango.com?
Absolutely.-- Just create a goal, change the Share Level to
Friends and Family, and then invite your friends to join you.-- You can customize the email message that is
sent to your friends, and when they get the email and visit LifeTango, they can
"adopt" the goal for their own list.--
Then all of you can view one another's progress, see comments that
others have posted, add your own comments, and more.

I read
about a "Profile" in the Learn More section. How can I add information to my Profile?
Unfortunately, at this time, we have not been able to
implement the Profile page. Once
implemented, you will not only be able to search on "keywords" to find goals
that you have an interest in (like finding others who want to run a "marathon")
but you will also be able to search on profile information that others have
chosen to make public. For example, you
could search to find others who live in your town or who graduated from your alma
matter. You will even be able to search
on multiple items (for example, if you wanted to find others who have a goal to
run a "marathon" who are your same gender who live in
your town).
When available, you will be able to add to your Profile from
the My Tango page.
We're working to implement the Profile page as soon as
possible, so stay tuned.
Is the
information in my Profile visible to others?
What you share with others is up to you.-- Once implemented, the Profile page will
enable you to post information about yourself including the city, state and
country where you live; places you've lived in the past; employers you've
worked for; schools you've attended; your gender, age, marital status and other
personal information; and more. But, for
each item, you can choose whether you want to make that information "Public,"
meaning other LifeTango.com members will be able to view it, or whether you
want to leave it "Private."
For your safety, there are two pieces of information we will
never share with other LifeTango members--your last name and your email address.

LifeTango Community
I created
a goal, but I don't see it in the LifeTango Community. Why?
Goals you've created will only appear in the LifeTango
Community if you make them "Public." "Private"
and "Friends and Family" goals are not visible in the LifeTango Community.
How can I
search the LifeTango Community?
Unfortunately, at present, you can only browse the LifeTango Community.--
Shortly, we will be introducing the ability to search based on keyword or a user's public Profile
information. Stay tuned.
What does
it mean to "adopt" a goal?
When you adopt a goal, you add the goal to your own Life
List. Once adopted, you can edit the
goal to make it your own. For example,
let's say that you were inspired because you saw that someone else set a goal
to go skydiving and you want to do that too.--
You could adopt the goal and then change the due date or other
information about the goal. Or let's say
that you saw that someone else set a goal to lose 20 lbs. It inspires you, but you actually want to
lose 15. You can adopt it, then change it to meet your needs and aspirations.

Another
LifeTango member is making me feel uncomfortable.-- What can I do about that?
We want LifeTango to be an enjoyable place for all of our
members. If another member is making you
feel uncomfortable--for example, by posting comments on one of your Public goals
that makes you feel uncomfortable or threatened--please contact us immediately
at privacy@lifetango.com.
