I'm intrigued by the public goal tracking idea and giving this a try.  Right now I'm facing a couple of short term goals or obligations since I've agreed to judge for two writing contests.   I've finished the reading for one and I'm writing out my comments sheets.  Tomorrow I'll probably get the pile of submissions for the second contest. 

Right now I'm feeling a bit like the contests are taking away time from my own writing goals, but perhaps that's because contest 1 has a rather long judging sheet.   The second should be a little easier.  Besides it is a way of giving back to the writing community and generally enjoyable.
