Thanks for Using LifeTango.com

Just a quick entry to say thanks for using LifeTango.com.  As I noted in one of my early blog entries for the site (in Tango Tips, as opposed to my personal blog here), the site was inspired by a "goal group" that a friend from Minnesota was in about three years ago.  She gained a lot of motivation by having a group or friends to share her goals with, receive a little peer pressure from, etc.  And I thought--hey, why not try that with a bigger community of "friends" on the internet?

Anyway, Chris (the smart one) and I have been working on some fairly major upgrades to the site that we hope will have live in the next 4-6 weeks.  Some of the changes will involve new features.  Others will hopefully make the site a lot easier to use.  If you have ideas, now's the time to share them, so feel free to post a comment to this blog or send me a message directly.

Either way, thanks again for using the site.

Brent

What a great site! There is a free template at another site that I have found very helpful, it would be cool if you were able to print into this preformatted template to focus on a goal a day. The site is http://successbeginstoday.org/wordpress/2007/01/goal-setting-toolkit/ . Just a thought, I don't know if you consider this a competitive issue, I would consider it great synergy between 2 very good sites. Irregardless, I appreciate your site very much, thanks for the creation and support.

Hi Brent, I think this site has an excellent concept. Thanks for sharing it with the world. I submitted a bugreport to you but don't know if you received it; the comments show up with backslashes before quote characters and need the php command stripslashes() as was already obviously done with goal titles and descriptions. Just a minor annoyance, but easily fixable. None of my business, really, but you could use Google adsense to make good money once more people become active on this site; Markus Frind cleans up with those text ads at plentyoffish.com, and the ads are usually relevant to the page; for example, ideally, the goal "travel to Greece" would have a list of travel deals to Greece. Some minority of people will of course complain, but it's really a relatively painless way to both flesh out and finance a site at the same time. I had some other ideas over the past few days but they've evaporated. Maybe they'll come back to me and I can post again here. Thanks again -- jc
