Connection vs. Control
I'm feeling good today. I feel connected to several people: my neighborfriend Trish, my husband, my father (!
) and I even made a new friend yesterday! Plus, I feel connected with my "career" or ministry.
On the other hand, my house is a mess. Laundry isn't done. The dog is outside, he has no water (though it is very cool out today, he's fine), There's still Christmas stuff to put away and food to be prepared. Normally, I would feel so out of control and frustrated and I would not focus on relating at all until I got my house and schedule "under control."
Hopefully, my house and schedule ARE under control-- GOD'S CONTROL.
I feel much happier being connected. Rather than wanting to be admired by my friends and loved ones, I want to be connected to them. So, who cares if my stomach rolls, or my trash can has odors emitting from it? Am I fun to be with? Or, as need arises, am I comforting to be with? Am I open to love? Do I allow others company to nurture me? My goals are probably going to change because I am growing growing so much! Thank you Lord!
