Today I am starting on a new journey. One with real goals and dreams and hopes. I know what I want and I know I can get there.
Last night I attended a goal planning workshop based on Tony Robbins concepts and really got a lot our of it. I thought it might benefit others too. Here are the highlights.
- The three pillars of success (at goal planning and achievement) are to
- Get clear
- Get the best tools and systems (find a method that works and then just keep reproducing it over and over)
- Get integrated and aligned (if you are still not getitng what you want, then there is an inner conflict keeping you from it.)
- Understand the the number one thing you can do to achieve your goals is to DECIDE.
- When you are in a rut, simply change one of three things about your current situation/state and you can easily snap out of it:
- Your pattern of language (both thoughts and spoken words)
- Figure out what words drive you and use that instead
- Break the habits of negative thinking and words
- Patterns of Focus and what you believe. It's like driving a Formula One race car. Being able to pull yourself out of a spin is one of the most critical skills for any successful driver. They secret is not to look at the wall. Instead physically turn your head and focus on the inner track. In other words (the real lesson):
- Don't focus on your fear, focus on the solution
- You may actually hit the wall even still, but you have a better shot of not hitting it if you focus on a positive outcome
- Wherever your focus goes, the energy flows
- Patterns of Physiology
- Motion creates emotion
- The fastest way to change your emotion is to change what your body is doing. If you are unhappy, smile instead. If you are depressed, get up and jump around. Be diligent about this!
- Put yourself in a state that makes you feel unstoppable -- which is the place you must come from to change anything.
- Our belief systems are the reason most people don't achieve their goals - we don't have the right thinking. We don't believe in ourselves or the goal itself.
- Figure out what thinking gets in your way and don't just work around it, or ignore it, eliminate it. Just remove the barrier. If you don't get what you want because you have no money, find a way to get it - earn it, borrow it, raise it, beg for it, but get it. That applies to everything else too.
- You will never do anything you don't believe in
- Ultimately your actions will either serve as an example or a warning - which will you be?
Very good information. I hope you find it helpful too.
